Little to report

Hard to believe that we're already into March and it seems like so little time has passed.  Matt & I continue to search and interview and smile kindly for the strangers, and still we're under employed.  Because I had a stinky interview yesterday and I'm feeling a little mopey, I thought it best that I share some pictures of Vincent instead.

Oh, and I'd like to report that we've made some progress on the sleeping! Yay! He was only getting up once a night - if at all. Wheeee!  Then he got this horrible cough cold that Matt and I have been battling.  Now he's back to waking himself up every few hours.  Usually he can put himself back to sleep - I just lay in bed with cat like reflexes waiting for another scream to tell me, "MOMMY! I need you!"  Sometimes he needs a drink.  Perhaps his rough night of sleep is connected to my mood today.

Nevermind that - gaze upon the cuteness!
Here he's munching on a radish at the Midtown Global Market.  I'm so thankful that he continues to be an enthusiastic eater.  It's so much fun to share food with him.  Here we were eating a sope - a grilled masa (cornmeal) cake stuffed with cheese, topped with chicharron prensado (red chili stewed pork), lettuce and the radishes.  He loved it and his carnita tacos topped with the traditional cilantro onion topping.  He loved it right up until he decided he'd had enough of boring, old mom (and grandma, my mother who we refer to as Meema was with us.)  He leaped from the table and darted off into the crowd.  He weaved in and out of families, confused teenagers and food stalls.  I was grateful that he didn't grab anything - just running.  Still, that he has absolutely no fear and is now fully mobile at death defying speeds is kind of terrifying.
A rare moment of stillness. He'd shed his sweatshirt and was now in his appropriately titled, "Pro Vince" shirt.

Action!  Momentum! LOOK! SHINY! He's like me at a Food & Wine show.

Man, though.  That boy is fun.
Who me?

  1. Love the shirt! Amanda is a pretty adventurous eater too. I find the trick is to not put it on her plate. There are so many things she's tried while was preparing dinner or making something for myself. The only things she really didn't like was raw "oing-yoings." (onions)
