Spring - is that you?

Another brief piece in my series of Odd Conversations with Matt.

He's on spring break this week - and my is it springy! It's over 60 degrees outside right now and feels downright summery. As much as I hope he'll soon have a day job, I'm so happy to have him around during the day. We decided to put the boy in his stroller and take a nice, long walk. For the first three blocks this is what I heard.

"Ooo, bring it back... bring it back... bring it back."

Extended pause.

"Bring it back...bring it back... bring it back..." In case you can't recognize the tune, it's a tiny part of a Led Zepplin song.

"Do you have a song maybe stuck in your head?" I asked.

"No - yes. Nevermind." Block four, "Bring it back - No, I didn't!"

"Have you ever been tested for Tourette's?" This wisecrack caused me to laugh so hard I had to stop and put my hands on my knees to catch my breath. Eventually, I calmed myself to just wheezing and we made it a few more blocks in silence. Our plan was to hit Breadsmith for a little Sourdough. "I'll bet you that we walk out of there and within two minutes you'll sing part of a song you hear in the store."

"You having a good time over there?"

"Yes. Little warm - Man, I should take off my jacket.... I'm sorry, but that Tourette's thing was really fun."

"Yeah... you're really funny," he scoffed.

"Yes I am." We walked inside. Vince charmed the crowd and eventually left with a beautiful, fresh loaf of bread.

One block later, I kid you not, I hear, "Can't get you out of my head." He whipped his head to the side at looked at me. "Shut UP - that was not playing in the store.... Was it? No..... Was it?" I couldn't answer. I was laughing too hard.

(Once I figure out why my computer won't let me import my pictures, I'll have some cute shots of Vincent from our walk.)
