All Work and No Play Makes Joy a Dull Girl

Whoever said I needed to leave the house? Just because I've struck up a lovely friendship here with the glassy eyed, slightly transparent bartender doesn't mean that I've got cabin fever. Why do you ask? Did that cedar bush move? Wait... there! Did you see that? No? Whatever.
No. I don't wanna go outside. It's cold and snowbly. Unfortunately, my husband's making me. Jerk. So, off I go to meet with my good friend tonight for a little Steely Dan cover band action.
In the mean time, I wile away the hours making baby food. I can't believe how much this kid will eat if you let him! So far there isn't a thing that he doesn't like. Just this morning I discovered he loves wheat crackers that he can feed himself. He's a very independent 7 month old.
I busy myself, which he's figuring that out by sauteeing peeled apples and pears before pureeing them in my tiny food processor. That at least looks like real food. I made the mistake of getting some Gerber chicken meat in gravy. Um..EW. I know that I'm over doing it on the making everything for him from scratch part - but what the hell is that purreed chicken abomination even doing in my pantry? It looks like beige goo with a side of milky barf thrown in. Gag.
He hasn't tried that one yet. But my wild blueberry soup with mashed up bananas was a huge hit.
I give you the gratuitous sloppy baby picture:

Reminds me of another Stephen King story.

Maybe I do need to get out more.

  1. I love being home, too. It's so comfortable and convenient and I have all my stuff. Leaving the house is too much work! Thank goodness for bloggy friends and Facebook!

Thanks for your note on Facebook. I can't remember if I replied or not. The last week has been a bit of a blur. I'm doing okay. I processing the best I can between caring for babies and battling the ever present nausea.

    Squeeze your lovies for me!
